Last weekend was an up and down affair with the bets of the day landing and covering my other bets. I had 2/3 land in a treble but west ham were held 0-0 although really should have won the game. Rochdale went down to 10 men after just 15 minutes against Northampton which meant they could only draw also. However, we still have a nice bit of profit rolling over the last few weeks, and overall are £230 up for the season.
This weekend is the international break, so we don't have as many fixtures as usual to chose from, however i've pulled out a few nice little nibbles for you. In League 1 there are 3 stand out fixtures thats i've picked out. Oldham are one of the most consistent teams in the division. They are currently on a run where they have won each of their last 4 home games. They are at home to a very average Crawley team who are without an away win their last 7. Oldham however are only 6-10 so at that odds i'm not interested. Preston are a regular pick for me, and today are at home to Bradford. Preston have also won their last 4 at home, however, they have also lost their last 2 away from home, and Bradford are no mugs. So, although i fully expect Preston to win, at 7-10, again the odds are a little short for me. The bet of the day in league 1 comes at Vale Park. Rochdale (yes again!) are away to Port Vale. Rochdale have won their last 3 away from home, and are as I've said before are one of the best away teams in the country. They are 13-8 to win today, and although Port Vale's home form is good, i still fancy Dale to win this.
Rochdale to beat Port Vale £25 at 13-8 (BetVictor)
In league 2 there are also 3 games i like the look of. Todays games see a lot of teams near the top playing those a t the bottom, which makes things a little easier. The first of these is Shreswbury who are at home to Mansfield. The Shrews have won their last 3 at home and are unbeaten in 8, and they play Mansfield who sit just above the The relegation zone. Shrewsbury are only 3-5 and for this reason they make up the first part of a double today. The Second part is Southend. Southend sit 7th in the league, but have yet to really get going in my opinion. They have one of the strongest squads in the division, and will be pushing for automatic come the end of the season. They are at home to Hartlepool today, who are the worst team in the league, and who i actually backed for relegation. Southend are 4-6 for the single and in the double it makes a tidy little 2.62 effort. My final bet from the league games today comes from Luton. Luton are in fine form at the moment and at home have won their last 6. They are a great price at 6-5 with Boylesports to win at home to second from bottom Tranmere today.
Shrewsbury to beat Mansfield and Southend to beat Hartlepool, £25 double at 2.62 with Paddypower
Luton to beat Tranmere £25 single at 6-5 with Boylesports.
All my league bets today are relatively small stakes. This is due to 2 reasons. 1 because they are lower league and these games can be less predictable that the top games, and secondly due to the international break. Not many teams in league 2 will have players on internatonal duty, however in league 1 there are a few and this can obviously have an effect.
In terms of the International games, there aren't too many that have caught my eye, however, today i think there is money to be made on the England game-yes thats correct England! They are 4-11 to win at home to Slovenia, which in itself isnt amazing, however, i think they will win by 2-3 clear goals today. England are 11-10 on the handicap at minus 1. For me that is great odds and i really fancy it, and i make that todays bet of the day.
England to beat Slovenia with -1 handicap £50 11/10 Paddypower.
good luck today.
