A late goal helped last weekend but sadly a late goal had the opposite effect. For transparency purposes I have left it on the spreadsheet as a loss, however I did have the common sense to make sure I still ended up in profit. I was at the Sheffield United game and didn't fancy their chances of holding on so I laid my stake and made a small profit too. I need a NAP to come in this weekend for a 50 50 split. It was a very quiet week last weekend with just 2 bets and an ongoing bet. Arsenal look a nice bet for the cup now, especially considering they play Villa in the final.
The snooker World Championship is underway and it's shoes off if you think O'Sullivan can win the tournament. He is a nice price of 9/4 (Betfair) and is just ahead of Neil Robertson and Judd Trump (9/2 most firms). I don't think that price will last so you need to get on quick. It all depends what Ronnie is going to turn up but at that price it is worth the punt.

Back to the football…………..
Premier League – This weekend the games are played over the Saturday and Sunday. The early kick off is a tricky encounter to predict between Southampton and Spurs. This is far too tough to call so I will be leaving it well alone. Burnley and Leicester battle at the bottom and this is another difficult game to call. I think two games offer value on Saturday and these are Palace (21/20 most firms) at home to Hull and Stoke NAP (19/20 William Hill) to beat Sunderland. Stoke are fresh off the back of a home win against The Saints, where they were a whopping 11/5. Sunderland and Hull are woeful with one win between them in their last 12 games. I don't know what it is but there is something that always steers me away form backing Palace? However, on this occasion I am going to be placing some money on them. The games on Sunday look tasty encounters, especially Arsenal Vs Chelsea, I have no plans to back any of the teams on Sunday, but I will be watching.

The Championship – We are getting to the business end in the lower leagues and are inthe penultimate weekend before the nail biting playoffs take place. There are two early kick offs, one dictated by TV and one by a the fact it is a Yorkshire derby. Neither game will be seeing the colour of my money. The way the Watford game goes though could have an impact on how the top end terms perform in the 3pm kick offs. With the bottoms twitching I think it is difficult to predict any results in this league with an air of accuracy.
League One – Preston (3/4 Paddy Power) are on fire and I fancy them to take 3 pts at home to Swindon in a bid to put another nail in the coffin of their promotion push. I would have liked a slight better price but they should still be victorious. A victory for PNE and a defeat for MK Dons at Rochdale, would see North End home and dry. Rochdale have it all to play for as they are clinging on to try and make the final playoff spot. As in all the leagues at this stage, nearly all the games have an impact at one end or the other.
Preston (3/4 Paddy Power) Vs Swindon
League Two – Burton have already sealed promotion but I am sure they would like to finish Champions and give their home fans something to celebrate. Mid table mediocrity beckons for their opponents Northampton. Anything other than an away win for Shrewsbury at Cheltenham and Burton would be crowned Champions. Burton at 5/6 are another consideration this week. Oxford play Cambridge this weekend but their will be no boats involved. I think we will see the same result as in the boat race, despite neither team having much to play for. Oxford (11/10 Coral) are a good odds against price. Cambridge are also without their first choice keeper. York seem a good price at 8/5 (William Hill) against Newport, although Newport are fighting for a play off spot.

Oxford (11/10 Coral) Vs Cambridge
