Betting Tips 18th October 2014

The midweek tip was very disappointing.  Belgium only produced a one all draw. 🙁

7 out of 9 naps have come in (all around even money or better) but still £63.75 down, but still waiting for the big double to drop in.  I have mentioned it before, but betting on the singles would have proved very lucrative.  I need to keep going until I hit a double though.  Just for my own piece of mind.  Instead of going for two even money shots I might lower the odds………we will see. 🙂  Bristol City left it extremely late last weekend and left me sweating, but they all count.  We love a late goal in our favour but look over all the injury time and feel hard done to when it goes the other way.  We're like a fat lad who can't have seconds, never satisfied.  All gamblers suffer from greed.  We have had too much on when we lose and not enough when we win.

So, to this weeks analysis.  After the talk of doubles is it the turn of Man City (1/2) and Arsenal (1/2), both at home, at double odds of 2.25 with Stan James, that could break the double hoodoo?  I know they are a lot shorter prices than I normally go for but I can't see them losing to Tottenham and Hull respectively.  Man City are in the early kick off and I am not overly concerned by the attacking threat of Spurs.  Arsenal have lots of injuries but should have enough to breeze past Hull.  I usually like to go for the W D W market but Everton and Villa Under 2.5 goals was a consideration for me and at odds against with Ladbrokes I may have a flutter on it (11/10).  This may seem a strange bet considering the majority of Everton games have ended over but I like the price.  I would steer away from a winner in this game with 5 of the last 7 games ending in a draw. I also like the price of Newcastle at 6/5 with Bet 365.  There is lots of hysteria surrounding Pardew but they have only played three home games this season, one was against Man City.  They drew with Hull and Palace (95th minute goal) and I think they will have enough to get past Leicester, despite their recent good performances.  The reason to back Newcastle is that the price is very good and they are my NAP this week to make it 8 out of 10.

There are quite a few games to get your teeth into in The Premier League but the Championship is more difficult this week.  The top 5 are all away from home.  This is a good opportunity to get some good odds on teams.  I don't find it easy to back teams away from home unless I really like the price.  I will rarely back teams unless they are better than 6/4.  This is the price of Norwich against Fulham but I don't like this one and Kit Symons is turning things round.  Watford, Middlesbrough and Forest are all better than 6/4 but face tough opposition so I will be avoiding these games.  Huddersfield are on a great run of form and face a Blackpool team that may be on the up, but odds of 17/20 with Coral is mouth watering.

Rochdale at home to Gillingham is the only game in League one that stands out (a bit) at me this week.  I seem to have a vendetta against Gillingham as they cost me while ago, but they are the worst team I have seen in this division.  At 3/4 Rochdale are not a great price but an OK price, despite having lost their last two home games 1-0 to relatively poor opposition.

A tricky League two list which sees only Southend as the odds on team.  Phil Brown seems to be working magic at Southend but I am not sure that the odds are great considering they face Exeter who have picked up quite a few points away from home.  The bottom two face each other in this league and it should be a real fierce game.  I wouldn't touch this one with the proverbial ten foot s****y stick.  Lots of other games are extremely tight, as suggested with the bookies prices.  It is for this reason I will also be steering clear from League Two today too.  My picks today will be from the Premier League and The Championship.
