4th October Tips

Rochdale came in last weekend at a lovely odds of 10/3  after a stunning second half performance to win 3-2 at Orient when they played much of the game with 10 men! That saved me somewhat as Forest let me down as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Brighton. This week i have picked out some nice prices from the leagues with a number of games in League 1 to look at.

The Premier League has a number of tight games again with 3 teams i'd expect to win their games. Liverpool are very skinny at 1/2 to beat West Brom, as are Man City (8/15) away at Villa. The bet of the day in the Premier League is Swansea. They have already disposed of a number of weak teams at home this season, and today welcome the leagues least form team in Newcastle Utd. The Swans have had a great start to the season and offer another test for the extremely under pressure Alan Pardew and his side. Newcastle could hardly be less'United' at the moment, with the fans unhappy with both Pardew and Ashley, and they have only won 4 of their last 24 games in the PL, and have only scored 13 goals in their last 20 matches, with 12 blanks. At 11/12 (Betvictor) i fancy the Swans to win this and it is my first major single of the day.

In the championship there is the usual mix of tight fixtures. I would fancy both Norwich and Derby to win at home today, however, Norwich have failed to win their last 3 home games, and at 4/7 are poor odds. Derby are also 4/7 to beat Millwall, which i think they will do, but again the odds aren't great. Much better value is Watford who are 17/10 to defeat an average Brighton team. Watford's home form has been very good (won 3 and drawn 1 in 4 games) and are great odds considering their league position.

League 1 has a whole manner of games that look quite tasty and the key is to try and pick the correct ones. Preston, Bradford, Notts County, Peterborough, Rochdale and Bristol City are teams i'd predict to win today. I can see all of these sides winning, but to get 6/6 as we know is very unlikely, but is 78/1 if you fancy a dabble! What i have done instead is pick out 3 of these to form a treble. Oldham have been in good form this season and are hard to beat, so that puts me off Peterborugh although 13/10 for P'boro win is nice odds for a team second in the league. The best bet for me is the unfashionable Rochdale team. Their form is very good and they are still 8/5 to beat a Barnsley team who lost 3-0 in their last outing and who haven't won since the 23rd August. Notts County have made some great additons to their side, and recently signed Jake Cassidy who scored 2 in mid-week and who will bag plenty at this level. County draw a lot of games though and this puts me off. Bradford have let me down twice this season, but they play the weakest team in the league in Crewe. Crewe have 4 points from a possible 30, and concede plenty of goals, and i cant see anything other than a home win in this one, and at 8/11 the odds are pretty good also. The final team for my treble is Preston. They are at home to a struggling Colchester and are unbeaten at home this season. I predict a nice win for End and hopefully a nice treble.

Rochdale, Bradford and Preston treble £25 6.03 Coral.

Good Luck
