Betting tips 26th/27th/28th February.

Friday 26th February 2016

I start this week with a rugby bet. I think Wales -9 to beat France at evens is a great bet. Wales were decent against Scotland. France have played absolutely shockingly and were lucky the Irish collapsed. I think Wales will beat them by a couple of trys.

Price is evens at Bet365

Saturday 27th February 2016

West Ham (1.85) Draw (3.82) Sunderland (4.8)

The early kick off is West Ham vs Sunderland. They are at opposite ends of the table with West Ham not far off a Europa League place and Sunderland battling for relegation. Sunderland come off the back off a win against Manchester United in the league. They haven't been playing too badly recently. West Ham have played well in the Cup but their league form has been a bit indifferent now. I think the value is on Sunderland at 4.8 at Bet Victor

Leicester (1.57) Draw (4.5) Norwich (6.5)

Leicester were unlucky to lose to Arsenal. The sending off changed the game. Norwich stopped their run of 6 losses in a row with a 2-2 draw against West Ham. They were 2-0 up as well. I think Leicester will ease this. Still think odds on Leicester are wrong. If this was City or Arsenal I'm sure the odds would be like 1.3 on the home win. Odds for Asian Handicap -1 are 1.95 at Bet365

Sunday 28th February 2016
Man Utd (3.25) Draw (3.38) Arsenal (2.43)

Interesting odds here. I'd have gone 13/8 (2.63) both sides. I don't think Arsenal should be favourites. Man U have a decent side and will want to make amends for the 2-1 loss at Sunderland. Arsenal were fortunate to beat Leicester. They had a bruising game against Barcelona too whereas Man U played an alternative side for their European game. Man U +0.25 is 1.9 at Bet365. You get paid out at 1.45 if its a draw and 1.9 if Man U win.

Big winner on Barcelona

By | February 24, 2016

The Champions League proved rich for one English football fan last night during Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Barcelona at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger’s side are on the verge of elimination at this stage for a sixth consecutive season, one Premier League fan had plenty to cheer about.
Popular full-time gambler and football statistician @BarriesView won a remarkable £3,567.87 on last night’s result. He Tweeted a screenshot of his winning bet to Oddschecker:

Barrie had to wait until the 71st minute before the runaway Spanish La Liga leaders opened the scoring – Lionel Messi scoring on a great counter-attack, assisted by Neymar.
Messi then secured the punter his winnings in the final five minutes when he won and converted a penalty after a foul from substitute Mathieu Flamini.
Strangely, Arsenal's odds had drifted from 1.76 to 1.96 with Betfair in the space of less than 24 hours before kick-off despite this season’s favourites naming their expected starting XI. Barrie’s View took full advantage of these odds as shown above!
Back in December, Barrie also tipped Barcelona to win 5 trophies this season – we wonder how much he is due to win on that?!?

Arsenal vs Hull Betting tips and other thoughts

By | February 19, 2016

This weekend sees the return of the FA Cup. These fixtures are trickier than the usual weekend fixtures as you are not sure which team is actually playing and which teams actually want to win.

Saturday 20th February 2016
Arsenal (1.6) Draw (4.25) Hull (7.1)

Looking at this game, you'd think the odds on Arsenal were generous. Hull would be towards the bottom of the league so something like 1.3 on an Arsenal win would be expected. So why double the odds? I think its because Wenger will be resting players in anticipation of Barcelona on Tuesday. If they lose that, the tie is pretty much over.

Hull look like they are rotating the squad too. Without a doubt, Arsenal would be even money if Hull put out their full team too. But as they are top of the Championship, promotion is much more of a priority than getting to the next round of the FA Cup.

I'm avoiding this game but if I had to bet, I'd be on Hull + 1 on the Asian Handicap. Its 1.88 at Bet365. You get your money back if Hull lose by exactly one goal. You win if its a draw or Hull win.

None of the other games on Saturday interest me.

Sunday 21st February 2016

Chelsea (1.95) Draw (3.8) Man City (4.3)

This is the main game on Sunday. I expect Chelsea to win this one. City come off the back of 2 losses which has almost killed off their Premiership dream. They are still in it but they are no longer favorites. City also have a game on Wednesday in Kiev which they must have half an eye on.

Chelsea played pretty well against PSG. I think they were were actually unlucky to lose that one. Another day that could have easily been a draw or Chelsea win. This is really the only chance of silverware this year for Chelsea and I expect them to go for it.

The Chelsea win is 1.95 at Bet365

Monday 22nd February 2016
Shrewsbury (9.5) Draw (5.5) Man Utd (1.42)
Shrewsbury knocked out Sheffield Wednesday last time round much to my annoyance. Being near the bottom of league one, you'd have expected them to get beat by Wednesday. They somehow managed to win 3-2 though.

Man U have dipped in form recetly. After that 3-0 win over Stoke and 1-1 draw at Chelsea you thought they might have turned the corner. However, away losses to Sunderland and Danish club FC Midtjylland makes me wonder. Van Gaal is always under pressure and no doubt they'll be calls for his head if they don't win this.

Top price is currently 1.42 at 10bet.

PSG vs Chelsea 16th February Tips and Offers

By | February 15, 2016

On paper this should be a home banker. I don't understand odds here. You have a team what is 24 points ahead of its second place rival in the French league vs a team which is mid table in the Premier League.

PSG rested players at the weekend and had their 16 match winning run come to an end with a 0-0 draw. Nothing to be ashamed of. Chelsea on the other hand, thrashed Newcastle 5-1 but Newcastle are relegation candidates and aren't the greatest. Still not convinced about the Chelsea side, they have quality but keep blowing hot and cold. Chelsea have never been great away from home in the Champions League either.

Since the prices came out, the odds on PSG have drifted out. I was expecting something along the lines of 1.5. At Bet365 they are 1.7. Not only that, they are doing their in running offer.

Place a pre-match bet on the PSG v Chelsea game and we'll give you a risk free In-Play bet to the same stake (up to £50) on the big match. T&Cs apply.

To qualify for your risk free In-Play bet, simply place a bet before kick-off then, once the game starts, place another bet on any In-Play market. If your FIRST In-Play bet loses we will refund this stake, up to the same value as your largest pre-match bet (max refund £50). Where more than one In-Play selection is placed on the same bet slip, the risk free bet will be deemed to be the one which is first on the bet slip.

I really like the Bet365 offers. Its like a £50 free matched bet. If it loses, you get your money back.

With the in running bet, I always go with something a bit speculative. I think something like 2-0 is a good bet. Seems a waste to place it on something with low odds. My bet to qualify for the in running bet is going to be PSG to win.
