1st November Tips

By | October 31, 2014

So last week was another great week for me, putting me firmly in the positive for the season. Both Swansea and Rochdale won easily at great odds. Lets have a look and see what beauties we have for you this week.

In the Premier League we have 2 stand out ‘give-me's with Chelsea (2/11) at Home to QPR and Arsenal (3/10) at home to Burnley. That will give you a double of 1/2 , however, thats too skinny for me and not what i'm looking for. You will rarely see me go anything lower than 4/6 as a minimum, and usually i aim for odds of around Even money. Everton are 3/4 against Swansea in a game they should win, but as i've said before Swansea are dangerous and i wouldn't back against them. Southampton are 11/10 to win at Hull and certainly have the form, but Hull don't lose many at home. The other games are also very tight and could go either way so this week there is nothing that floats my boat in the PL.

I have tried to stay away from the championship the last 2 weeks as it is so unpredictable. This week however there are 4 games i like the look of. Firstly, Derby are in great form and are away to a newly promoted and uninspirational Brentford side. At 13/10 (Bet 365) Derby are a great bet to bounce back from their defeat to Wigan. I expect Derby to win, but its not a certainty for me so i will leave and watch this one. Watford are Evs money (William Hill) to beat Milwall. The hornets are at home and are unbeaten in their last 7 at Vicarage Road. I predict a win tomorrow for them and will add them to todays championship singles and trebles bets. I've seen Ipswich away from home 3 times this season and each time they have impressed. Their high pressing game and work rate, combined with pace on the counter attack has seen them get some great results away from home, including draws at Forest and Derby and a win at Wigan in recent games. They are at a Blackpool team that as we all know look domed, having claimed just 6 points all season. Ipswich are 11/10 (Bet Victor) to win this and again i fancy them to get the 3 points in this, and will also add them to the championship treble. The final leg of the treble comes from B'mouth. B'mouth (19/20 with William Hill) are along with Derby, the form team in the league. their home record is top notch and they have won their last 4. They are at home to Brighton, who can be tough to beat, but have never impressed me. I like the look of all 3, but can potentially see 1 letting me down so im going for all 3 as smaller stakes singles and a cheeky little treble. The treble is a slight long shot but is great odds.

Championship treble: Ipswich (£25 single 11/10 Bet Vic), Watford (£25 single Hills Evs) and Bournemouth (£25 single 19/10 Hills) 3 x £25 singles and  £15 treble @ 7.86 Bet Victor.

Bet of the day again comes in League 1. After Rochdale's win last week, im getting more confident by the week with the form in this league, and the odds for the top teams in this league compared to the PL are in a different league (pardon the pun!). Notts County are the form team in league 1. County have won their last 6 games and are unbeaten in 11. They are at home to a Walsall side who are without an away win in 7. So what are the odds then 1/2, 2/5??? No 7/4, yes i repeat 7/4! im not quite sure why and it almost seems to good to be true but i'm all over this one. I also like the look of Chesterfield at home to Yeovil and Bristol City at home to Oldham. However, after further inspection, Chesterfield's current form is not great and Oldham are unbeaten in 11, which puts me off this one. So its just the one bet in League 1 for me.

Notts County to beat Walsall £75 single 7-4 with Boylesports

League 2 as i've said before is not a strong area for me. I like a couple of sides, but nothing stands out for me in this league today. I will be leaving well alone and would suggest you to too!

good luck as always.

1st November Betting Tips

By | October 30, 2014

A much better week last week with 3 out of 4 of the football bets coming in, making it 9 out of 11 NAPS and now a profit of £54.83.  It sticks in the throat a bit to realise that had I been placing singles alone I would be an additional £564.52 in profit.  £619.35 seems a lot better than just over fifty quid.  I have said it before though, it is a high risk strategy but it only needs one good one to drop in and it sees a tidy profit.  Arsenal's disappointing performance against Hull has played a pivotal part in the profit and loss column.

Typically the lowest price team were the team to let me down last week.  Derby slipping up against Wigan was unexpected.  I did spot the potential banana skin of Wycombe and their poor home form.  Sadly I didn't spot the same with Derby.  This week I aim to make it into double figures with my NAPS and make it 10 out of 12.

The early kick off sees an on fire Newcastle against a very poor Liverpool side.  Newcastle or Draw at 17/20 (365) would be my preferred choice over backing Liverpool at a terrible even money (Paddy Power).  Arsenal and Chelsea should be comfortable winners but at 1.52 for the double (Victor) I won't be touching it.  All the other Saturday games could go either way and I expect them both to be tight affairs.  I won't be touching the Premier League this weekend.

The Championship isn't much easier to predict either this weekend.  There are no fixtures that immediately jump out in the 3 o'clock kick offs.  However, my NAP comes from this league this weekend and it is in the form of Bournemouth to beat Brighton.  They are even money with Victor but are as low as 8/11 with BetFred.  Bournemouth come of the back of two excellent results and are going for their sixth win on the trot, whilst Brighton are the draw specialists drawing 5 out of the last 6.  I think Bournemouth will have too much for Brighton and should be comfortable winners.

League One – Preston are the form team but regular readers of this site will know I am not overly keen on backing away teams, especially as they are against Rochdale, a team who I make an exception to my rule.  Rochdale are hit and miss and it is a game I would avoid especially as Preston are only 6/4 (Coral).  You could do worse than back Chesterfield at 19/20 (Victor) at home against a very poor Yeovil side.  Chesterfield are in freefall though and need to up their game if they are to get a win.  New manager syndrome for Port Vale so I won't be having a flutter in their game.  Fleetwood are my next pick at 5/6 (Coral).  They entertain a terrible Gillingham side who I think will struggle to stay in the division.  Fleetwood's from isn't amazing but they have only lost to lower placed teams twice in the last 10 games.  I fancy them to be comfortable winners.  My third pick is Sheffield United to beat Barnsley at 17/20 (Victor).  It is a Yorkshire Derby which makes it a tricky one to call but I think the Blades will have enough to put Barnsley to the sword.  Don't be surprised if Sheffield United leave it late again.

League Two – A good indicator of how tough a league is to predict is the price of the home team.  If you look at all the home teams this week in League Two they are all odds against.  Avoid this league like the plague this week.  Good to see my tip for the title, Luton, have turned a corner.  I currently have two from four sitting at the top.  It would have to be a momumental turn around for Fulham and Man City to get to the top though.

My Bets

£100 Bournemouth to beat Brighton – Evens – Victor

£75 Fleetwood to beat Gillingham – 5/6 – Coral

£50 Sheffield United to beat Barnsley – 17/20 – Victor

One £20 Treble (6.48 Victor) and Three £20 Doubles

Good Luck.  Let's hope it is another profitable week.  I might stay away from American Football this weekend.  Unless my mate Greg Simpson gets in touch with another tip.  I glossed over it in the blog as it wasn't a winner.  It wasn't a disastrous bet in the end, they just got off to a bad start.  Next time gadget, next time. 🙂

October 25th Bets

By | October 25, 2014

Well the break worked for myself a couple of weeks a go and last weekend we had our best weekend of the season with everything landing. It resulted in my season losses totalling £59 however i have £95 open in season long bets. That doesn't feel too bad considering i don't feel like i've had a great start to the season.

Today i have 4 stand out tips for your perusal! Firstly, lets see whats happening in the Premier League. Man city are a good bet at 4/7 to win at West Ham, but odds are too skinny for me. Arsenal are 4/5 to win at Sunderland, which on the back of Sunderlands 8-0 defeat looks big odds. However, i'd expect a reaction at the stadium of light from the Black Cats who before last week had been tight at the back and looked pretty solid. Moreover, Arsenal have only won 2 league games all season, and with an ever growing list of injuries are by no means a sure bet, so il leave this alone. My bet of the day in the Premier League comes at The Liberty Stadium where Swansea entertain Leicester City. The Swans are 19/20 to defeat newly promoted Leicester who have stuttered over the last few weeks even losing last week away to the then winless Newcastle. The Swans still play some beautiful attacking football and i thought they were unlucky last weekend against Stoke, and fancy them to return to winning ways today.

Swansea to beat Leicester £50 win William Hills 19-20

The championship is proving to be an increasingly difficult league to predict, although i was disappointed i didnt back Fulham last night as i fancied them, and they won easily 3-0 against Charlton. There is nothing that i really fancy in the championship today, and for that reason i will leave well alone.

League 1 is the league to bet in at the moment with the best form for the teams in the top half and many results going to form. There are 2 games that stand out for me today, one of which is great odds. Rochdale are a massive 13/8 to win at Yeovil. Rochdale have won 4 from 6 away from home, and have played p'boro, sheff utd, leyton orient and Swindon away already. Their away form should they win today would actually be the best in the league. To counter this, a weak and struggling Yeovil side have only won 1 from 7 at home which is why this bet really stands out. I also like the look of Swindon at home to Colchester. Swindon are Evs to beat Colchester, and they have only lost 1 home game all season and that came against Rochdale on Wednesday! Swindon are just a couple of points of automatic promtion with games in hand, and i feel they will win today and i will use them as the first part of todays double.

Rochdale to beat Yeovil Town £100 free bet with Titan bet (£100 deposit match free bet for new customers) 31-20

My final tip comes in league 2 today. Wycombe Wanderers have been the standout side this season in league 2 and are at home to a weak Dagenham & Redbridge side. Wycombe are top of the league and will easily win today. at 4-6 the odds aren't amazing, but add them with Swindon and we have a nice little double. Nothing else really stands out today in league 2 for me.

Demon double:Swindon to beat Colchester and Wycombe to beat Daggers £30 3.19 Bet365.

good luck

Betting tips 25th October

By | October 24, 2014

Gambling cn be a cruel cruel game.  Fine margins and correct decisions can be the difference in big profit or loss.  Instead of the current balance being -£106.25 it could be £265.  Poor referring decisions and shock results have hindered the progress.  Not to mention the ONLY week I don't put the singles in a double and they both come in.  I thought Arsenal seemed sure fire and would boost the odds so I placed them in both doubles.  Both my singles came in (doubles odds just over 3 to 1) and I decided against it.  8 out of 10 NAPS and still in negatives.  Arsenal were also the only team to let us down in the six fold.  If you are following my singles and not my accas then you would be well up.  My NAPS have all been around even or better so I hope you are having a better time of it than me at the minute.  I won't let it deter me and I will try and get back on my horse.  I did have £20 on Aguero FGS and City win with Betway but this came through on a text just before kick off.  I got a tidy 7 to 1.  I haven't placed it on the sheet as I didn't tip it,I want to keep everything transparent.

Premier League – Things are still too delicate and raw to bring myself to backing Arsenal but they look reasonable odds at 4/5 (Stan James) away to Sunderland.  Swansea (NAP) at 19/20 (Hills) at home to Leicester looks the best bet of the day in the Premier League and will be one that I will be having.  It seems I have it in for Leicester as my NAP last week was also against them.  Not many games on the Saturday, mainly due to European commitments.

Championship – Derby at home to Wigan seems a very generous price 4/5 (Hills) .  Derby are in a rich vain of form and Uwe Rosler's wigan side are struggling without a win in their last 7 games and 4 nil nils.  The next pick is a strange one as it is Bolton to beat Brentford.  Bolton are second bottom but Neil Lennon will be making his debut in front of the Bolton fans and I think he will turn things round at the club.  The price of 6/4 with Hills makes it even more of an incentive to back Wanderers.  Brentford are mid table and have picked up a couple of away wins but I fancy Bolton to edge it.  Watford are a tempting 3/1 but Boro have only lost one in their last 8 so it would take a brave man to bet against Boro.

League One – Port Vale and Preston are the only two home teams in the division that are playing opposition below them.  I am not a huge fan of backing away teams but there seems one game this week in this league that offers decent value. Rochdale away to Yeovil seems a great bet.  Yeovil haven't won for 5 games and seemed woeful against Sheffield United midweek.  Rochdale have had one blip against Barnsley (a game I beton, typically) but I think this will be comfortable for them.  17/10 for Rochdale at Victor is a great price for a team who have won 4 out of 6 away games already this season.

League Two – My information in this league are purely based on Tables and form this week as I haven't had opportunity or time to delve deeper.  Luton at home at 6/5 (Hills) against Northampton.  Wycombe at home to Dagenham at 8/11 (Coral).  I think Wycombe is one to avoid at this price though as they have had some suspect results at home this season.  The price for Luton reflects the fact that Northampton are considerably better away from home than they are at home.  I won't be having anything in this league this week.

Swansea 19/20 (Hills) NAP – £50

Derby 4/5 (Hills) -£50

Bolton 6/4 (Hills) – £50

Rochdale 17/10 (Victor) – £50

Doubles, Trebles and 4 fold – 11 bets @£3 each

Additional Bet.  I have had a tip from a friend that follows NFL.  His NAP this week is Detroit Lions to beat Atlanta Falcons with a -3.5 handicap (10/11 Betway).  There is no home advantage for the Falcons as it takes place at Wembley.  It's on Sunday at 13:30.  I will be having £50 on it.
