September 27th betting tips

By | September 27, 2014

Last week was predictably tough and Gillingham could only draw which cost us our bet of the day. However, this week im confident we can get back on track. There are 4 teams i fancy at decent odds today and il run through these today.

In the Premier League i fancy Chelsea, City and Man utd all to win, however they are all very skinny odds. City (4-7 Bet 365) give the best value of the 3, and on the back of their 7-0 Capital One cup win, i think they might be starting to find their form, and fancy a win. This offers a nice add to any accy for these who like a saturday flutter or 2. Chelsea (1-4) are still dominant at the top of the league and they will comfortably beat an Aston Villa side who have started well, but who wont be around the top 4 for much longer with their current run of fixtures. United (2-5 Bet 365) are at home to West Ham in what will surely be another goal fest. Utd only have 1 fit centre back, but with their attacking prowess you would expect them to net 2/3 goals themselves. Over 3.5 goals is 23/20 with Boylesports and is a nice bet also.

In the Championship there are 2 stand out teams in the league at the moment. Both Nottingham Forest and Norwich have started the season well, and both have winnable games today. Norwich only drew last week to ruin my double, however i'm confident that they will turn it around today away at Blackpool, who continue to struggle at the bottom of the league. Norwich are 3/4 with Coral and form the first part of todays double. My bet of the day comes at The City Ground as Nottingham Forest (5-4 Coral) entertain a very average Brighton team. Forest have been transformed this season and sit at the top of the championship. They are high on confidence and even rested their first 11 away at Spurs in the weak.

Bet of the day: Nottingham Forest to beat Brighton £50 5/4 (Coral)

In League 1 there are a few games that look tasty and again ive pulled out a game with big odds to have a little nibble at. Firstly, however, i have picked Bradford as the second Part of my double. Bradford (7-5 Bet365) are at home to a weak Port Vale side. City are in the play-off places and looked good when i've seen them this season, despite a poor home record. I fancy them to get back on track today. Now my other pick for today is Rochdale. Dale have surprised a number of teams this season, notably with big wins (4-0 against Crewe and Crawley) and also a win at home to Coventry last week. They ran Sheffield United close in their last away game also. Today they face a Leyton Orient team who have not only started the season poorly, but whose manager has resigned. Rochdale are 7th in the league and are 3 points ahead of Orient and are 10/3, yes 4.3 to win today! I haven't seen that much value for a while.

Rochdale to beat Leyton Orient £20 10/3 Bet365

Double Delight: Norwich to beat Blackpool and Bradford to beat Port Vale £20 Bet 365 4.15.

Good luck

The set backs at the weekend have placed me back in the red by just over £20.  Let's not let it knock us as we are looking for value and only need to capture a few times for it to be happy days.  I still stand by Gillingham being excellent value despite the result.  My Premier League tips were spot on with tipping West Ham at a speculative 4 to 1 and also highlighting potential banana skins for Everton and Tottenham.  As for the other tips, the less said the better.  Mansfield only just managed to hang on and I thought they were going to throw it away at the end.

Let's dust ourselves down and get back on the horse.

The Premier League has been throwing up all sorts of topsy turvy results over the last few weeks and I would avoid this league again this weekend.  Notable mentions are a laughable 4/11 for Man Utd to beat West Ham.  I think the best value is Arsenal at 4/5 (Hills).  Despite Arsenal being knocked out in the league cup and Tottenham progressing, I don't think we can read too much into this.  Both fielded weak teams and looked poor.

After looking at the Championship this week I expect Ipswich to carry on their good form against a team they have a good record against.  Ipswich have won the last 4 against Rotherham and at even money they look a good bet (Bet365).  Rotherham have won only 2 of their 17 meetings.  I don't tend to read too much into ancient historical data but some teams do seem to do better against teams than others.  Villa at Anfield are a team that spring to mind.  Without a win all season Blackpool (9/2 Hills) may be due a win against an out of sorts Norwich.  Blackpool are losing but they aren't getting trounced each week. Saying this they have only had 23 shots all season.  They do fall into the category of a possible bogey team though as they have won 2 of the last 3 and drawn 1.

League one sees the top 2 playing each other and with MK Dons on fine form Draw No Bet at 33/20 (Ladbrokes) offers some value.  It also sees the bottom two pitting wits but this is too tough to call.  I can also see some real good value for Coventry to beat Preston at 12/5 (Victor).  Coventry have a great home record and Preston have a relatively poor away one.  Moving back to the Ricoh has been a positive to fans and has given them an extra lift.  The last 4 games between them have ended in a draw.  Which brings back memories of the Gillingham game where the last 4 of their games had been draws (now 5).  The more conservative gamblers may go for the draw no bet at 7/5 with Victor. Leyton Orient will be managerless against Rochdale this weekend and I would avoid at just better than even money.  Rochdale are good away from home and I would rather back them at 16/5 (Ladbrokes).

League two doesn't fill me with much confidence in many matches.  I wouldn't be tempted with what seems the most obvious, judging by the tables, of Wycombe (11/10 Corals) to beat Cambridge as the away team seem to prefer it away from home. The tie of Morecambe Vs Northampton (one of my outside tips for the title) offers fantastic value.  Morecambe have lost their last two games but these were both away from home.  They have a great home record and I fancy them to beat Northampton at a great 19/10 (Victor).  Again, we are looking at previous results and the last 3 have been drawn.

Ipswich win £100 NAP (Bet365)

Coventry win £50 (Victor)

Morecambe win £50 (Victor)

Doubles and Trebles win at £12.50 each (Treble odds 19.72 Victor)

This type of betting and staking need me to get at least 2 correct to make a profit. However, the profit will be good.   If you want a more conservative bet for still good value you can do Morecambe and Coventry Draw no Bet and Ipswich win for odds of 9.84 (Victor)

Good Luck.  Let's get back in profit

20th September tips…

By | September 19, 2014

Last week was predictably tough and one which was probably best watched. I was annoyed that Bristol City won as i toyed between them and Peterborough as my bet of the day, and predictably City won comfortably and Peterborough were held to a draw! However, we wont let this get us down, as in betting as we know you can't win them all, but its about minimising the losses and getting back on the winning track as soon as possible.

This weekend offers another tricky weekend for the tipster, but i have managed to search out a couple of little beauties for you punters that will see you happy as Larry!

In the Premier League, the games are tighter than Freddie Mercury's denim jeans with each game having the potential to go either way. There may well be a host of draws and at 9/4 a minimum up to 3/1, a £10 bet on a draw in each of the 6 Saturday PL games wouldn't be the worst bets this week in my opinion.

In the Championship i have picked out 2 teams that i'd expect to win. Middlesborough (4/5 bet365) have been consistent this season and are at home to newly promoted Brentford, and i expect Boro to have too much for them on the day. That said Boro have seen me out of pocket this season, and for that reason i personally will leave this one alone. A much safer bet is that of Norwich. They are only 1/2 but are certainties to defeat a very weak Birmingham side. Norwich are the form side in the Championship and will win this comfortably and will form part of this weeks double.

League 1 sees 2 great bets, for differing reasons. Firstly, my bet of the day is Gillingham. I never thought id ever write that to be honest! However, if we look at some stats im sure you will start to understand why. I have seen The Gills play twice this season, and i have been quite impressed each time. Moreover, they are in good form coming off the back of a win against table topping Peterborough in midweek, and winning 2-0 twice and drawing 2-2 in the other home league game. So they carry good home form into this match. The opposition at The Priestfield tomorrow is Walsall. They have have not won away from home all season, and indeed lost 4-0 in midweek to Rochdale. Walsall sit 1 place above the bottom 3, and Gills 2 points off a play-off place. The Gills are a massive 21/10 to win this game (Bet 365) and i think that is the best value bet this season so far. At the shorter end of the odds section comes the other half to my double. Preston are 8/13 to defeat a weak Crawley Town side. Preston are one of the best teams in the league and can score at will on their day, and i think they will hammer Crawley tomorrow.

Bet of the day: Gillingham to beat Walsall £30 21/10 Bet 365

Double delight: Norwich City to beat Birmingham City and Preston North End to beat Crawley town, £30 double 2.43 Betfred

good luck

September 20th Bets

By | September 19, 2014

It is safe to say that last week I was extremely disappointed.  I was going for 6 from 6 naps but my run of 5 came to an end.  Cardiff were 2-0 up to Norwich at half time and then threw away the lead and lost 3-2.  I said last week was going to be tough which is why I only opted for a £50 bet.  Although I still stand by the fact the price of 2.7 was excellent and, despite the loss, I probably should have staked more for the value.  Subsequently Ole has lost his job as manager and Vincent Tan now needs to find another victim for the role.  Talk of Tony Pulis is rife but I can't see him going to Cardiff due to the fact he is well sought after and I don't think he will drop into the Championship.  Another manager that was axed this week was Penfold aka Felix.  A dismal effort so far and only one point from my title tip.  I think I can kiss goodbye to my league winners bet.

Saturday games in the Premier League aren't the easiest to choose from and I can't find much value anywhere.  A speculative bet on West Ham at 4 to 1 with Coral offers some value.  Even the Sunday games offer little value.  Spurs and Everton should win but at odds of around 1/2 they offer little value.  They have both played in the dreaded Europa League midweek so anything could happen at the weekend.  Seems a bit of bogey tournament and sometimes affects the following games results.

In the Championship's early game Watford offer some value at 7/5 with Victor.  They are playing a Bournemouth team that are mid table and only really have one striker (Wilson) to rely on.  Watford can score goals from all over the field, and despite only beating Blackpool one nil I fancy their chances to take victory in this one.  The victory over Blackpool was a comfortable one and it could have been more.  Newly appointed manager Garcia has spent some time in hospital but the players have responded well since his arrival.

Leeds have hit a good bit of form but 13/8 with Bet365 is not enough to tempt me in their local derby with Huddersfield.  Norwich to beat Birmingham seems the sure fire bet of the weekend but at 1/2 (Hills) I won't be having it as it is too low for me.

League one offers value with Gillingham a great 21/10 (Bet365) to win and Draw No Bet a very tempting 23/20 with BoyleSports.  Gillingham have one of the best home records, alongside Bristol City and Walsall have a very poor away form.  This fixture ended in a draw last season. Whilst Gillingham have quite a small squad they have worked well together this season.  Some may think they are punching above their weight but form suggests these odds are great.  Too good to turn down.  The rest of the league sees even teams pitched against each other or top teams away to lower teams.  The only exception is MK Dons against bottom of the league Crewe, and at 1/2 with Bet365 this is one worth leaving.

The top two teams play each other in League two and even cigarette paper couldn't split them.  Mansfield to beat Carlisle offers some value with Hills at 21/20.  Mansfield are quite good at home and Carlisle are rock bottom and remain managerless since September 1st.

Gillingham Vs Walsall NAP – Gillingham to win £100

Watford Vs Bournemouth – Watford to win £75

Mansfield Vs Carlisle – Mansfield to win £50

Doubles and Trebles of above at £12.50 a bet
