After a lean time over Christmas it was beautiful to get back to winning ways with a massive ‘bang', and a huge start to 2015. All 4 bets landed last week with a nice 11-1 4 fold and big pay out on the lucky 15. This takes the profits back above £1600 now for the season. I like the format of last weekends bets with 2 singles, the 4 fold and lucky 15. It worked well with a short price ‘give me' boosting the odds alongside 3 around even money. As a result I have stuck with that format for today's tips.
After trundling through this weeks fixtures I must admit its a tough weekend and there was only a handful of games I liked the look of. In the Premier League tomorrow there were a few games I looked at and just 1 game I've chosen. West Brom may turn out to be a different outfit under Tony Pulis and have a nice fixture at home to Hull tomorrow, at Even money I was tempted, but I still don't feel confident that West Brom are good enough to be sure of victory tomorrow. My ‘give me' bet this week is Chelsea to beat Newcastle. Chelsea as we all know are a class act this season. They are great at home having won 9/9 this season in the league. Jose and his talented team will be eager to return the favour for their loss against Newcastle a few weeks back. They are only 1/5 and I can understand why. Managerless Newcastle are on a poor run of form only winning 2 of their last 10 games, losing 3 of their last 4 away from St James park. A full strength Man City team would be good odds at 19/20 to beat Everton at Goodison, but with Toure, Ageuro, Dzeko and Kompany all out or not match fit, its difficult to envisage this as an easy victory, even despite Everton's poor run of form.
My second bet comes in the Championship with Bolton. Bolton have (as we said last week) been rejuvenated since Lennon took over, and the youthful partnership of Heskey and Gudjohnson have led the line upfront! They have won 6 of their last 7 at home and at 11/10 are again nice odds to beat an average and inconsistent Leeds United. Leeds haven't won in their last 8 away from home and have the 2nd worst away form in the league. Other bets I looked at were Charlton to beat Brighton, purely due to the odds of 5/2 when at home to a poor team, however, I don't overly rate Charlton so it would seem counter productive to back this. The final bet that I may regret not having was Bournemouth. They have been great for me over the last few weeks and are evs at home this week! However, they face Norwich who I still rate highly and can give anyone a game on their day, and that is why I was put off. But for any of my followers who want a 5-fold, this maybe a nice one to add to the 4 that I've added.
League 1 has no fixtures I have backed this week. I will be watching Leyton Orient over the next few games, and looked at them at 11/10 to beat Fleetwood. They still have one of the best squads in the league and through new management will climb the table I believe. Donny are great away from home, and at 2-1 to win at Oldham, this maybe worth a punt, but again I want to try and stick to those teams i'm fully confident on winning.
League 2 sees both my bets of the day this weekend. Burton Albion are one of my favorite teams in this league, and despite the loss of Gary Rowett, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has continued their progression. They have the second best record in the league, and have won 4 on the bounce at home. They are 4/5 to win tomorrow against a poor Mansfield Town side who have won 1 in their last 6 away and only 2 games all season. This is my first single, and also the third of the 4-fold and lucky 15, with odds of 4/5. The second single and final bet is Newport again. They did well for me last week and il stick with them again this matchday. They host Pompey tomorrow, a team that have the second worst away record in the league and despite a good pedigree over the years are really struggling again. Newport are 6/5 in this, a lovely price considering the fact they have won their last 3 at home, 6 of their last 7 home and away and are unbeaten in 11 at Rodney Parade (great name for a ground that Dellboy!).
