A fantastic Saturday last weekend with a profit of £556.97 which takes the total to £2284.81. I can't help but feel somewhat greedy though due to a Villa HT FT win costing me nearly another grand. I also didn't include the 23/10 in the accumulator which was disappointing. I should have more courage in my convictions. On a brighter note I am now 12 from 22 NAPS. Last weekend, at half time I also backed Bolton at 2/1 for another £150. As usual I don't put these on the spreadsheet and just keep that to the tips I make on the site. I was disappointed in Big Phil losing the final to Anderson but no major loss considering the other weekends profits.
Celebrity Big Brother has started again. Do not be fooled, it is the UK version despite the invasion from our friends across the pond. There are no massive stand outs as yet and it is very early days. Cheggers is the favourite 11 to 4 (Sky Bet) and currently it is hard to see past him at the minute. The only other one who may have a shout is Callum Best at 7 to 1 (William Hill), I have got free bets on both at £20 and £50 respectively. I will be monitoring it closely and have some more bets as it progresses and possibly do some laying. Katie Hopkins price is dropping rapidly, although I can't see her winning. I sincerely hope she doesn't win, I may need to purchase a new TV if she lasts long enough, I can see me putting my foot through it (the TV, not Katie Hopkins). Getting on early at good prices is key in these markets.
I hope we can build on the performance from last week and maintain steady progress.
Premier League – I haven't tended to place many bets in The Premier League as I have found it difficult to find any sort of value. The main value comes from backing an unfancied team to draw or win with the prices being around 5/4. Liverpool away to Sunderland at 19/20 (BetFred) is a price that should not be considered at all. This is a game that falls into the category I have just discussed. Sunderland OR the draw are 20/21 (BoyleSports), I don't think this is an amazing price, but if you want to be involved in the early game then I would go for that. Today is no different to any of the other weeks were I am finding it hard to find value. I am going to be having a flutter on West Brom 21/20 (most firms) though who are at home to Hull. There is also the Pulis Factor to think of, they are also on the back of a 7 nil victory to Gateshead. I think an Arsenal and Chelsea double is quite a good price at 1.8 (Stan James) but it is just a tiny bit too short for me.
The Championship – It pits 2nd against 3rd with both teams at reasonable prices. Although it would be a braver man than me that picks a winner in the Ipswich and Derby encounter. The same goes at the other end of the table with Millwall and Blackpool. Bolton (again) seem to offer value at 11/10 (Victor) against a Leeds team that can't buy a win. It wouldn't surprise me if there was another managerial casualty at Elland Road. Bournemouth are odds against 21/20 (Victor) at home to Norwich. Norwich have just appointed a new manager. Bournemouth are looking to make it 6 wins on the trot in the league but with new manager syndrome (is that even real?), it puts me off slightly.
League One – A little flutter on Barnsley 17/10 (Bet 365) to beat the bottom team Yeovil is well advised. Great odds and the Tykes have just acquired George Waring from Stoke to bolster their front line. At home to lower opposition Barnsley tend to do well and I really like the price. Crewe to beat Gillingham is another game that I toyed with, but the price of 13/8 (Bet 365) is just that tad bit too short for me. Doncaster away to Oldham are a lovely price at 11/5 (Bet 365). With all the media frenzy surrounding Oldham this week it may have an adverse affect on the team.
League Two – Burton are on fire and they served me well last week. The fact they helped win nice bet last week isn't influencing the fact that I will be backing them again at 5/6 (Victor) to triumph over Mansfield. Newport were another team I backed last week and a team I will be backing again. They were my NAP last week and will be my NAP again this week. With Shrewsbury playing on Thursday night if gives Newport 13/10 a chance to go in the top 3 with a victory over Portsmouth.
MY BETS
WBA vs Hull – £50 WBA 21/20 (most firms)
Bolton vs Leeds – £75 Bolton 11/10 (Victor)
Barnsley vs Yeovil – £50 Barnsley 17/10 (Bet 365)
Oldham vs Doncaster – £25 Doncaster 11/5 (Bet 365)
Burton vs Mansfield – £75 Burton 5/6 (Victor)
Newport vs Portsmouth – £100 Newport 13/10 (Bet 365)
No Double this week as I don't really fancy anything. I am happy with the outlay on the singles and the acca (below).
Trebles, Fourfolds and Fivefold, on the above minus Doncaster, £3 bets totaling £48. The fivefold pays 47.86 with Victor.
Good Luck and here is hoping for another profitable week. 😉
